What is love?

You read that right, what is love?

To answer that question first you have to know the different types of love, there's: Emotional love, parental love, romantic love, phsychotic love, abusive love and so many more others.

You're wondering what's this question supposed to prove? Well by the end of this blog I hope you're more aware of the type of 'Love' you're truly in.

Let's start with the common one, Romantic Love.

Let's say your lover tells you they love you, at that point you feel extetic because Love isn't something that is said so easily unless you truly desire this person and want to spend the reat of your life with them or so everyone says. Now let's continue that scenario and you tell your lover that you love them, is it true?

In that moment you feel happiness, overjoy and excitement but what exactly is love supposed to feel like? Is it that over whelming feeling that this person is yours and yours alone, is it that feeling that says this person is the one? I for one don't know what romantic love feels like because I never felt it, the only thing I felt was lust and a deep liking of a person.

So tell me does this person really lover you if you still have that nagging feeling that they will leave you? That isn't love darling that's merely deep liking, love is the certainty that this person would never break my heart and they will take care of me till the end of time and if it feels like that and your lover doesn't fulfil that then clearly they weren't in love with you, you were in love with them.

You see there's two things that come with love, pain and pleasure. One cannot exist without the other and that's the painful truth. It's best to stop thinking once I'm in love this person won't hurt me, trust me they will intentionally or not they will hurt you in due time. So when someone tells you they love you then put those walls up and see how far it takes you both.

When it comes to love, everyone wants to be loved so they dive head first and wonder how they didn't see the signs before it's too late. The best advice I can give you and what any sane person would remember is that always test the waters, dip your feet first before you dive in and if the water is level for a long time then dive in knowing what's in store.

Just remember Love isn't as simple as happiness, it's far more complicated and holds more power then any other emotions. So if someone tells you they love you consider what that word even means and what it truly entails because love isn't all rainbows and cupcakes it can also be a curse.

Love DD xx
